Emmerdale resident Marlon Dingle (played by Mark Charnock) landed himself in trouble with the law after it was believed he was responsible for Graham Foster’s (Andrew Scarborough) murder. The true culprit was in fact Pierce Harris (Jonathan Wrather), who later confessed to the crime. Since coming out of prison, Marlon has found it difficult to get back on track – could an exit now be on the cards for the troubled chef?
Earlier this year, Graham was killed by a mystery culprit as viewers of the ITV soap saw several of the Dales’ most well-loved residents out to get the dodgy businessman.
Marlon was amongst those in the frame and was subsequently charged with his murder after being wrongly accused of the crime, but it was Pierce who was revealed to have delivered the killer blow.
Luckily Marlon was released from prison after Pierce’s confession but he hasn’t had an easy ride since returning home.
He recently disowned some of his closest family members, including Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) after finding out her secret.

Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) revealed to ex-husband Marlon that Charity had stolen Graham’s money on the night he was killed, which could have helped his release from prison.
After leaving The Woolpack, Marlon has been finding agency work which has left him with little time to sleep and relax.
Tonight’s episode saw Marlon barely managing to stay awake after taking on some new work, which kept him up all-hours.
Several residents remarked how tired the chef was looking, which caused him to lash out and storm off.
However, he may have been thrown a lifeline for a well-earned rest, which could see him temporarily flee.
The Dingle family decided to start a campaign named Free Marlon in order to try and conjure up the funds to help with Marlon’s legal aid.
It seems the money raised from the campaign may come into good use, and give him some time away.
It was village busybody Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) and salon-owner Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) who suggested to Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) it might be time for Marlon to take a break.
Kerry remarked to her colleague: “Your Marlon had a right cob on in the cafe before.”
“She’s right, he did,” Brenda replied before Mandy probed the pair on what was wrong.

As Brenda explained the state she had seen Marlon in earlier on, she remarked: “Poor love, could do with a holiday.
“Hey, maybe he could take April and Leo away for a little break, with some of the Free Marlon cash?”
Kerry agreed, adding: “That’s not a bad idea, you could mention it Mandy.”
Could he decide to leave with April and Leo in tow for a much-needed break?
A concerned Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) later paid a visit to Marlon, who refused to let her in.

She pleaded: “Marlon, can you let me in please? I just need to know you’re okay. I can tell you’re in there, I can hear the TV.”
“Maybe take the hint,” Marlon snapped back, as Chas insisted: “No, no I won’t. Come on, please let me in, I just need to see you,” but Marlon refused to budge.
As Marlon’s relationship with his family continues to hang by a thread, it wouldn’t be surprising if he decided to make a quick exit.
It has already been hinted Marlon could face a health struggle as he continues to become anxious he will be thrown back behind bars.
Could this be the perfect time for him to take some time away from the village and get things back in order for the sake of his own health and his children’s future?
