Jessie (played by Sandra Marvin) has been at the centre of some pretty high profile storylines on Emmerdale in recent weeks, with committed husband Marlon (Mark Charnock) standing by her side through her ground-shaking ordeals.
After the nemesis of her eldest son Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) held her family hostage in recent scenes on the ITV soap, the school’s headmistress found herself the victim of a near fatal gunshot wound.
The traumatised character was also the villager who broke the news that the remains of a baby buried on the site of the high school 16 years ago had been unearthed, leading to the revelation Lydia Hart (Karen Blick) had given birth to a stillborn son as a teenager.
Now, Jessie will once again be thrown into the thick of the action only this time, it’s the circumstances surrounding youngest son Ellis (Asan N’jie) which could see her venturing down a rocky road.
He’s going to be an interesting character
In the coming weeks, Ellis will be reunited with his father Al Chapman, who will be played by Hollywood actor Michael Wildman.
Hinting at the drama to come for his character, Michael told The Mirror: “Al’s come into Emmerdale ruffling a few feathers.
“He has been abroad on business. It’s not clear what his intentions are,” the newcomer explained, adding: “Al is trying to build the bridge with his son Ellis but thinks he can just come back into his life and pick up where he left off.”
Although Ellis may not be too happy to see his father after several years, Jessie may be tempted back by the ghost of her past.
“He doesn’t have to do much to make Jessie’s husband Marlon feel insecure,” Michael shared, so is Al set to come between the Dingle stronghold?
“He’s going to be an interesting character,” the actor continued and it seems Al will make his presence known as Michael also commented he doesn’t know how long his character will be in the village?
Can Al bury the hatchet with Ellis who is still recovering from his terrifying stabbing ordeal at the hands of villain Max (Jordan Reece) and will the youngster be shocked to see his parents romantically reunited?
Marlon doesn’t have the greatest past when it comes to his wives and former lovers, so could it be history is going to repeat itself the fourth time around?
Elsewhere in the Dales, it has been confirmed Robert Sugden star Ryan Hawley, 33, will be bowing out of the soap in the coming months.
Reports emerged earlier this year Ryan would be stepping down from the role, leaving fans of his relationship to loveable rogue Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) heartbroken.
Having learnt his sister Victoria Sugden (Isobel Hodgins) was raped by Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie) and is now pregnant with his child, it seems Robert’s revenge on the felon could tie in with his untimely exit from the village.
In whatever fashion Robert makes his grand depurate, it seems husband Aaron will be left reeling in the aftermath of the carnage.
“You’ve seen in the past what happens with Aaron when he unravels,” Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw explained to Metro.co.uk.
“So, when he is parted from his beloved Robert, it’s going to be explosive,” the producer continued.
Will Aaron’s bad boy image return as he loses Robert and will sister Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) be able to guide him down the right road as she she offers her support?
Teasing Robert’s revenge plan for Lee, Laura added: “He is on a mission to get his revenge on Lee even if it kills him.”
Emmerdale continues Monday at 7pm on ITV.
