Gabby (played by Rosie Bentham) has been doing her best to fit in at Home Farm, given she is carrying Jamie Tate’s (Alexander Lincoln) child and has become somewhat of an assistant to Kim Tate (Claire King). Little does she know, the father of her baby is using Noah (Jack Downham) to spy on her and relay information about what’s going on at the Emmerdale mansion. However, scenes from Thursday’s episodes of the ITV soap could suggest the youngsters are going to embark on a romance but Noah could be getting closer to his subject to collect more intel.
In recent scenes, Gabby was left crushed when her plan to woo Jamie was dampened by his reunion with Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).
This left the youngster heartbroken but secretly, she is still scheming to win him back but all that could be put on hold if she falls for Noah.
The young man is currently single and after a conversation with his new boss, it seemed he was going to have to go to great lengths to gain his subject’s trust.
Meeting in the café, Noah was intrigued as to who had brightened up Jamie’s attitude and he hit back by saying: “In this arrangement, I ask the questions and you give me the answers.”
Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) son clocked it was Dawn and seemed pleased the businessman was giving his romance with her another shot.
Trying to change the topic of conversation, Jamie said: “I hope you being here means you’ve got something for me?”
Noah replied: “Gabby’s been getting proper close to your mum,” but his boss was displeased by his response, telling him: “The reason I asked you to keep an eye on Gabby was because she was getting close to my mum.”
“They’ve got a secret [but] I don’t know [what it is],” the young man declared, adding: “I was going to tell you yesterday but I wanted to find out what it was first.”
“You’re not a very handy handyman are you mate, which is why I pay you to go the extra mile,” the businessman explained.
“You still want to get paid, don’t you?” he asked.
With Noah stating he would do anything for money, Jamie replied: “Right, find me something concrete and then you will get paid.”
In the second episode of the evening, the young man turned up at Home Farm with a tool belt around his waist as a rouse to make Gabby less suspicious of his motives.
Viewers had seen the expectant mother trying to crack into the business’ bank accounts but got locked out after getting the security information wrong.
She cleared the scene of the crime for when Noah entered and he was curious as to what she was up to.
When the pregnant character discovered what the young man had around his waist, she began to flirt by stating it looked “very macho”.
“You could be on a calendar for middle-aged ladies,” she continued before Noah turned the conversation back to his curiosity.
“What you looking for?” he asked, to which Gabby replied: “What’s it to you?” before lying through her teeth and stating she had lost her bank card.
“So it will have your name on it?” Jamie’s spy asked, with the expectant mother declaring: “Can’t go wrong with you on the case, Sherlock.”
Instead of helping her, Gabby told the young man to go and fix something with his tool belt but he was adamant he needed a payslip.
With Gabby out of the room, Noah discovered she had been lying about her bank card and relayed this back to his boss.
After Jamie mocked his spy for wearing a tool belt, the youngster explained he had found out some information.
Noah recalled his conversation with Gabby to his boss and told him how she had lied to him about losing her bank card.
Jamie was less than impressed as he replied: “This is the opposite of big stuff,” but his spy made his case by saying the expectant mother was lying about something.
“I could be anything. Think about it, I’m sure there is lots of stuff Gabby doesn’t want you to know,” Jamie hit back.
“And this is the second time I have asked you to get more information so if I was you, I would get my act together,” he continued.
“Because when I say I want something concrete, I mean something I can actually use,” the businessman stated in no uncertain terms.
Having received this warning from his boss, the youngster could decide to act on his flirtatious rapport with Gabby.
However, with her heart set on making Jamie hers, will the expectant mother use Noah to make the father of her child jealous?
Will the romance between the young sweethearts continue forevermore?
Emmerdale continues Friday at 7pm on ITV.
