During the past couple of weeks in EastEnders, the Panesar family have been left grieving over the death of Jags (played by Amar Adatia) and they still have no idea that Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) had something to do with it. Jags was facing time inside after his mum, Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) had him arrested. Jags took the fall for Vinny’s (Shiv Jalota) crime following the attack on Martin Fowler (James Bye).
When Suki discovered Jags was in a relationship with Habiba (Rukku Priya Nahar), she took her revenge and reported her son to the police.
However, little do the Panesar family know that Jags only died because Ben failed to get him protection in prison.
During Monday night’s episode, BBC viewers saw how Suki was racked with guilt over the death of her son – and it didn’t go unnoticed by her co-worker Honey (Emma Barton) either.
Honey seemed to think that Suki was trying to punish herself by not eating after she suffered a wobble in the Minute Mart.
As Suki entered the shop, a surprised Honey said: “I didn’t think we’d see you today what with the funeral tomorrow.”
As Suki spotted Honey chatting with Billy (Perry Fenwick), she sharply replied: “I don’t pay you to chat.”
Honey continued: “I told Billy I could manage.”
Suki then proceeded to take a fall as she held onto the shelves to keep herself stable.
“Why don’t you go and get yourself some breakfast,” a concerned Honey added. “You need to keep your strength up.”
Clearly taken aback by Honey’s comment, Suki replied: “Why don’t you focus on your own family? I can still smell Billy.”
Later on in the episode, Honey is unable to keep her worries to herself and she went back to visit Suki to see how she was.
“Couldn’t this have waited?” Suki asked her as she opened the door.
Honey told her: “I just thought I’d call in and see how you are because everyone needs someone to talk to.
“Most people. Well, everyone actually. Especially the people who think they don’t.”

Suki tried to deflect the conversation although Honey quickly moved it back to Suki’s health.
“Suki, you look so thin,” Honey said. “I saw you put that chocolate back.
“And in the shop this morning. You need to look after yourself. You need to be strong. You need to eat.”
“My son has just died,” Suki hit back. “His funeral is tomorrow. So, I’m sorry if I have lost my appetite.”
“You’ve got a job to do,” she added. “Now, I’ve kept you long enough.”
Honey appeared to ignore Suki’s plea for her to leave as she went on to offer her a cup of tea.
Gurlaine Kaur Garcha, who plays Suki’s daughter, Ash Panesar recently said in an interview with Digital Spy that Jags’ death would have a huge impact on the whole family.
“The viewers are going to see this change among the family and also how it impacts their relationships with each other,” she began.
But hinting conflict may not stay within the Panesar household, she added: “And also other characters too.”
EastEnders airs on Tuesday at 7.25pm on BBC One.
