EastEnders had surprise cameo from Adam Woodyatt's son in Ian attack episode

It wasn’t looking good for Ian Beale in EastEnders last night – as he was bludgeoned over the head and left to die in shocking scenes that kicked off a whodunit mystery that will have viewers guessing.

But the episode also contained a clever cameo from actor Adam Woodyatt’s son Sam – who played the arresting officer when Ian was led away in a police car thanks to Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White).

This allowed them to film a physical contact scene that didn’t require social distancing as they share a bubble – and fans were impressed with the latest tactic deployed by the show.

Previously, Kellie Bright’s husband came onto the set to portray Max Branning (Jake Wood) as he shared a kiss with Linda.

In 2016, Sam had a serious accident and was left badly injured after being hit by a car.

But he defied odds and made a recovery just months later so that he could run the London Marathon with his dad in 2017.

The pair raised around £6,500 combined for the Air Ambulance Service, in recognition of their help.

Adam is set to take a long term break from the soap during Ian’s attack storyline.

There are suspects all over the Square from Ben Mitchell and Sharon Watts through to Stuart Highway and Peter Beale.
