EastEnders cast have shared pictures of themselves letting their hair down on a weekend night out to celebrate St Patrick’s Day early.
Lorraine Stanley, Max Bowden and Shona McGarty were together with other friends at a pub to have a good time amid the uncertainty of the growing Coronavirus pandemic.
At the time that they were out, the situation was less serious than it is now and government guidance had not beenreleased about staying indoors and avoiding public gatherings. Their night out also preceded the BBC issuing the measure of shutting down production of all continuing dramas including EastEnders.
The trio, who play Karen Taylor, Ben Mitchell and Whitney Dean in the popular show were clearly in high spirits and were all smiles for selfies.
On Wednesday, it was confirmed that production had ceased on EastEnders, Casualty, Holby City, Doctors, River City and Pobol y Cwm until further notice.
An EastEnders spokesperson said: ‘In light of the spread of Covid-19, after much consideration, it has been decided that filming on EastEnders will be postponed until further notice. The decision was made after the latest government update.
‘We will continue to follow the latest news and advice from the World Health Organisation and Public Health England.
‘We have also taken the decision to reduce the amount of episodes we broadcast each week to two, so that we can ensure the audience can continue to enjoy EastEnders in their homes for as long as possible.’
