Dumped Love Island hunk George reveals ulterior motive to Lucie romance

Last night’s Love Island ended on what should have been a cliffhanger, with either Lucie Donlan and George Rains, or Amy Hart and Curtis Pritchard going home.

But with Amy quitting, it somewhat ruined the suspense and tonight it was confirmed that Lucie and George were sent home.

Speaking after his exit, Essex lad George has confessed he was “really surprised” by the dumping.

He hadn’t been in the villa long, only joining the series during the Casa Amor twist last week.

But Lucie made it clear there were no romantic feelings there on her side during an awkward chat with him, Maura Higgins and her Casa Amor man Marvin Brooks.

However, it seems that doesn’t matter too much to George, as he’s confessed he’s hoping to get something else out of the pairing.

Speaking about Lucie, George said: “We’ll definitely stay friends. And I want to get a few free surf lessons.”

Despite his short stay on the ITV2 show, the blond hunk reckons he’s made “best friends for life”.

He explained: “I got on the best with Ovie [Soko] and Marvin, coming from Casa Amor together, we made a great friendship from that.”

And while he’ll “definitely be rooting for them on the outside”, he reckons Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague will win.

But he added: “I would like to see Ovie and Marvin both meet someone. They’re both great guys.

“Ovie is so funny, he’s a really genuine nice boy and so is Marvin. I would like them to each find someone.”

Summing up his time on the show, George said: “My time in Love Island was absolutely amazing.

“I met some really great people. I’m so lucky to have experienced what I did.”

Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2.
