ACTOR Danny DeVito rose to fame for portraying the taxi dispatcher Louie De Palma in the 1980s television series Taxi.
His role in Taxi won him Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award.

Did Danny DeVito lose his Twitter verification?
As walkouts spread across US Nabisco bakeries in Aug. 2021, with union workers protesting proposed changes amid contract negotiations, screen star DeVito took to Twitter to express solidarity.
"Support Nabisco workers striking for humane working hours, fair pay, outsourcing jobs," wrote the actor, who concluded his message: "NO CONTRACTS NO SNACKS."
DeVito is among the most prominent supporters of a weeks-long strike spanning several Nabisco plants.
Employees affiliated with the BCTGM International Union at Nabisco plants in Portland, Virginia and Colorado, have walked off the job after the union could not reach a new contract with Mondelēz International Inc., which owns the company behind Oreos and Ritz Crackers.
However, in the hours that followed, several of DeVito's followers soon expressed confusion over the status of his account, as his blue badge -Twitter's distinctive sign of verification – disappeared from his account.
One of DeVito's followers asked if his choice of the message had caused a problem, writing: "Did Twitter strip you of your blue check for this tweet?"
Another commented: "I'm a little flummoxed. Is it against the terms of service to talk about strikes on twitter??"
A third Twitterer said: "Danny, I would like to support your cause but I really can't do that unless you're verified. Please get verified."
On August 19, media outlet More Perfect Union shared a tweet stating DeVito had confirmed that his Twitter account had been unverified.
However, Twitter explained DeVito's account was temporarily "de-badged" because the account’s information was incomplete.
“The account was de-badged temporarily because the account’s information was incomplete,” a Twitter spokeswoman told The Hollywood Reporter.
“Our verification policy states that blue badges may be automatically removed from inactive and incomplete accounts, which require a confirmed email address or phone number.
We have worked with the account holder to confirm the necessary information and the account’s verification has since been restored.”
In fact, DeVito's blue checkmark has been reinstated on his Twitter account as of August 20.
What is Danny DeVito's net worth?
According to Celebrity Net Worth, DeVito's fortune reportedly stands at $80million.
The longtime actor's latest film The Survivor was released in Sept. 2021.
DeVito owns his own production company, Jersey Films, adding producer credits to his resume on noteworthy films like Pulp Fiction (1994) and more.
