Coronation Street actor Adam Hussain has demanded police action after his sister suffered racial abuse.
The star, who plays Aadi Alahan on the ITV soap, took to social media to ask for help over the ordeal.
He shared a screenshot of Zarha’s Instagram story, which shared a photo of the man who branded her a ‘terrorist’ on a tram.
‘Getting called a terrorist coming home 6 in the morning from a night shift loving life,’ she sarcastically penned.
‘Didn’t know I was a terrorist for being brown.’
In a thread on Twitter, Adam called for something to be done over the incident.
‘My little sister was racially abused by this scumbag when she was coming home from a night shift, 6 in the morning yesterday,’ he wrote.
‘It just goes to show how rampant racism still is. #racist #nameandshame.’
Tagging the Greater Manchester Police Twitter account, the Cobbles favourite continued: ‘He was on the tram coming from Manchester airport to Cornbrook. Any info? @gmpolice @MCRMetrolink.’
‘I’d like to know who the tram driver was too,’ he added in a follow up tweet. ‘As he sat and watched all of this happen @MCRMetrolink @gmpolice.’
Fans rushed to offer Adam – who joined Corrie last year – and his family their support over the ordeal, flooding his comments with love.
‘This is awful! Sorry your sister had to put up with this. Can’t believe that people behave like that to others. Shameful,’ one replied.
‘So sorry to see this Adam. Hope your sister is ok. I hate that I am still seeing this sort of thing posted on such a regular basis,’ another said.
A follower commented: ‘So sorry your sister had to deal with a vile entity such as this Ads.
Hope She’s OK. Thoughts and love bro.’
‘That’s awful I’m so sorry your sister had to put up with that! Sending her much love,’ a Twitter user added.
