Coronation Street is going to be rocked next week when Sinead Tinker (played by Katie McGlynn) tragically loses the battle with cervical cancer. In scenes which are going to leave viewers in tears, the mother-of-one is going to be cruelly taken from her friends and family. And understandably, her husband Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) is broken, as he finds comfort in someone else’s arms.
Viewers will tune in to two moving episodes next week which will focus solely on the last day of the young mum’s short life.
For days, Sinead will be seen struggling to breathe, eat, move and ultimately live, but it is also a struggle for Daniel.
Keen to create lasting memories for son Bertie’s future, Daniel stages an early Christmas with their family.
And while Sinead is grateful for the sentiment, it all becomes too much for her and a row will break out between her and Daniel.
After being told to get out of the flat, Daniel is overcome with emotion, unable to control his tears he hides in an alleyway.

But, he is spotted by Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) whose own heart breaks when she sees the state of the man she loves.
Desperate for comfort, Daniel finds himself confiding in Bethany about the row with Sinead.
Confused and upset, Daniel embraces Bethany and kisses her, to which she responds passionately, with all thoughts of Sinead and the cruel illness banishing.
However, the pair are forced apart when Ken Barlow (William Roache) finds them.
Witnessing the kiss, Daniel is ordered home to attend to his dying wife.
Consumed with guilt and self loathing, will Daniel tell Sinead the truth about his feelings for Bethany or will it be a secret that will go to the grave?
Meanwhile, Sinead is determined to enjoy every last minute she has of her life and her son.
But according to soap spoilers, Sinead is given a shock when she reads Bethany’s short story.
Realising Bethany is in love with her husband, Sinead confronts him and suspects he is hiding his own feelings for her from him.
Will Daniel be honest with his wife while she is on her deathbed?
It comes after the young mum was diagnosed with cervical cancer while pregnant back in 2018, after ignoring symptoms.
She started her treatment but then stopped temporarily as she was worried it would harm her unborn child.

Sinead restarted the chemotherapy after the birth of Bertie and for a time she responded well.
But it was last month, on the day of her wedding when she discovered a lump and was told by the doctors how the cancer she had was aggressive and untreatable.
Speaking about the emotional scenes they filmed together, actor Rob said he was sad his time working alongside Katie has come to an end.
“Daniel and Sinead have been on and off for two and a half years, so obviously I am very sad to be losing Katie on set.
“We’ve had so many intense scenes and shared so much emotion that we’ve developed a real bond with one another.
“Daniel and Sinead’s relationship has been so believable and real. I find it quite difficult to switch off after emotional scenes, I feel so drained after a scene that’s involved a lot of crying.

“So I guess the grieving process you see on screen will be a lot easier to play because Daniel’s sad that Sinead’s gone, and I’m devastated that I’m not working with Katie,” he added.
These scenes are the end of six years on the soap for Katie and she said: “When we filmed our last scenes it felt real.
“I know what a terrific actor Rob is and how he’s going to play the next part of this story without me, and I just feel sorry for Daniel’s character.
“It’s going to be the end of an era because I’ve really enjoyed working with him.”
Coronation Street have worked closely with charities Mummy’s Star and Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust on this storyline to ensure accuracy.
