Cliff Parisi fears I’m a Celebrity weight loss will damage Call the Midwife role

Cliff Parisi is delighted he shed pounds in the I'm A Celebrity jungle, but admits it may affect his role as the “big, fat mechanic” Fred Buckle on Call The Midwife .

The actor said the meagre rations were great for his weight-loss plan, but admits his bosses will probably want him to stop dieting.

Cliff, 59, said: "I went in there to go on a diet. I lost a stone and a half in a week. I’m planning to lose a bit more.

"I don’t know what my employers are going to think about that – I’m sure they don’t want me to lose too much."

Cliff played Minty Peterson in EastEnders and also starred in Call The Midwife, and he was a late entry to this series of I'm a Celebrity.

Cliff shocked  I'm A Celebrity  hosts Ant and Dec with a surprise revelation after he was voted out of the jungle this week.

The 59-year-old former EastEnders star told the Geordie duo that he had managed to smuggle forbidden contraband into camp.

He sneaked in salt and pepper to help make the boring meals more palatable.

Despite only being in the jungle for two weeks, newly-trim Cliff said he lost a whopping stone and a half during his time on a diet of not much more than rice and beans.

He spoke to Lorraine on Tuesday morning, and revealed he couldn't even enjoy a huge slap up meal when he exited the jungle because his stomach has shrunk.

He can now put his feet up at the luxury hotel and wait for the remainder of his campmates to being voted off the show in the coming week.
