Glastonbury festival was meant to be celebrating its 50th birthday this year but due to the current pandemic it was of course cancelled along with a number of other events across the country. Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty handed reporting on the music festival to John Macguire to explain in more detail about what would have taken place. However, viewers were baffled when they spotted a man lying flat in the grass right next to where John was presenting.
John was at the Glastonbury Tor in Somerset today, which is about five miles from where the Glastonbury festival is usually held.
Charlie and Naga both said how beautiful the surroundings were but they wanted a bit more information about the setting.
Charlie said: “I am assuming John, I don’t know the lie of the land too well, but from where you are you can probably see where the festival would have been.”
John explained: “Charlie we are about five miles away and you can just about make out Pilton.

“You say you don’t know the lie of the land, the land here is extremely flat and dominated by Glastonbury Tor and tower about 500 feet high, but look at the beautiful lush green fields of Somerset.
“This is the weekend of course which has staged the Glastonbury festival for 50 years.”
As John spoke about the surroundings, fans questioned if a man lying in the background of the shot was okay on Twitter.
One viewer said: “Was there a man lying in the grass just now beside the castle? #gmb #BBCBreakfast #goodmorningbritain #bbcqt.”
Another said: “Is that a BBC employee enjoying a snooze?”
A third added: “I had to rewind to make sure I saw some bloke just lying down in the grass @BBCBreakfast.”
“@BBCBreakfast was there a bloke lying down on the ground at Glastonbury Tho? Is he ok?” someone else asked.
