Andrew Morton said he believes Princess Diana’s "spirit" will hopefully be able to "heal" the ongoing rift between brothers Prince William and Prince Harry on Lorraine Tuesday.
The royal biographer appeared on the ITV talk show to discuss his new biography about the currently estranged brothers, and the late Diana’s beloved sons.
Speaking to the Scottish presenter, Andrew shared his hope for the Dukes to reconcile.
Asked how they could possibly try and move forward given the explosive events of the last year in the royal family, and what Diana would think if she was still alive today, Andrew took a moment to consider.
"Well she’d have been very disappointed in the two boys having a rift," he began.
"Hopefully the spirit of Diana can help in some sort of reconciliation when they unveil her statue at Kensington Palace Gardens this summer," Andrew encouraged.
The established author, who has written a slew of royal books, then went on to say: "She was, remember, by the end, an independent humanitarian ambassador for The Red Cross. She wasn’t involved in the royal family."
The royal biographer reminded viewers that the princess was even considering moving to Los Angeles too shortly before her death – just a stone’s throw from Harry and Meghan Markle’s impressive California mansion with their baby son Archie.
Andrew explained: "She was even thinking of living in Malibu in Montecito just down the road from where Meghan and Harry live.
"He would have totally understood Harry’s decision to walk away from the family firm."
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
