AJ Pritchard says he wont return to Strictly Come Dancing in same capacity

AJ Pritchard has weighed in on whether he would consider a return to Strictly Come Dancing.

The former I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here star, 26, left the BBC One series in 2020 after four years of working as a professional dancer.

During his time on the show, AJ was partnered with celebrities including Lauren Steadman, Mollie King and Claudia Fragapane.

Alas, it seems AJ has called time on appearing on the show as a professional dance partner.

Appearing on today's episode (August 26) of This Morning alongside his brother and Love Island star Curtis, 25, AJ revealed that he was reluctant to return to the series "in the same capacity".

This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes asked AJ: "Will [your] journey ever take you back to Strictly?"

In response, AJ replied: "I feel like not in the same capacity.

"It's great seeing the show and I think what's really nice, when you're in the show it's such a machine [that] you don't appreciate how much kind of goes on but when you're able to step back and watch it, you can really just kind of love it and see it and see all the hard work that comes together to create [it].

"I'll just be sat back on the sofa like, 'wow'."

AJ's comments follow him confirming his girlfriend Abbie Quinnen has achieved an "absolutely massive milestone" in her recovery from serious burns.

Abbie, 24, was injured while trying to cut a wine bottle into a vase alongside AJ for a video stunt.

Speaking previously on his decision to quit Strictly, AJ revealed he wanted to 'do more' after revealing the show's gruelling schedule left him feeling like he 'had no life'.
