It was Michael Jackson’s birthday over the weekend and the star could have wished for no greater gift than to know his children were happy and healthy. The star was born on August 29, 1958 and was raised to stardom from a young age alongside his eight brothers and sister. Michael’s own difficult childhood and abusive relationship with his father Joe is well-documented. He lavished love and attention on his own children before he suddenly died on June 25, 2009.

Michael Joseph Jackson Jr (commonly known as Prince) was born on February 13, 1997. His sister Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson followed on April 3, 1998. Their mother was former nurse Debbie Rowe, who was briefly MJ’s wife until they divorced in 1999 and she signed over sole custody for $8million.

Jackson’s second son, Prince Michael Jackson II (commonly known as Blanket) was born on February 21, 2002, to an unknown surrogate mother. These days he goes by the name ‘Bigi.’

Two of the siblings maintain high-profile social media lives while one is virtually a recluse.
