ABBA hadn’t even joined the streaming video platform and the Swedish superstars had already generated hundreds of millions of views. The #DancingQueenChallenge alone has had over 160million views on Tik Tok. Teh band has teased there will be a major new announcement this coming Thursday, which fans hope will be about the eagerly-awaited new singles, album and tour. Today ABBA also officially joined Tik Tok.
Over the past twelve months, fans inspired by ABBA have posted Tik Tok videos and challenges to classic tracks like Slipping Through my Fingers and Chiquitita.
Overnight, the band posted a low-key version of their signature tune Dancing Queen. It’s a simple, acoustic piano version and fans are already going crazy.
One wrote: “ABBA ON TIK TOK? ! Ok my life is complete” and another added: “Nice to see the greatest band of all time has arrived on Tik Tok.”
