DO not worry if you missed out on a summer break, as our Hols From £9.50 are back.
From tomorrow, you can start collecting Sun Savers codes to book a trip for autumn.
There are more than 80 holiday parks across the UK and Europe to choose from.
Here are my top packing tips to save on space and cash while you are away.
DOUBLE UP: It’s tempting to pack for every eventuality but doubling up frees space in your suitcase. For example, bikini bottoms and swim trunks can be worn as underwear. Primark has swimwear from just £2. Cut down on clothes and take a few washing tablets instead.
BAG A BARGAIN: Use large resealable freezer bags for your outfits, instead of space-saver bags that would normally cost around £14.99 on amazon.co.uk. You can also give your clothes a spritz of perfume, so you don’t have to bring the bottle with you.
SAVVY SOAP: Try a multi-purpose soap instead of taking multiple body, face and hair cleansers. It can also be used for washing small laundry items, such as pants and socks. A popular choice is Dr Bronner’s Pure-castile liquid soap, £8.79 for 237ml at Holland & Barrett. But, to get more bang for my buck, I like the castile liquid soap organic sold at naissance.com, £6.49 for 500ml.
EAT EASY: Food and drink is normally the biggest expense on holiday, so I always take salt, pepper and spices for self-catering accommodation. I then pack these in clear stackable toiletry jars. You can get a five-stack set for just £2 at Boots. To avoid costly drinks on long car journeys and round the pool, buy a fun, cheap drinks cup with a straw. H&M has a rainbow-print one for £3.99. It’s also more environmentally friendly.
DON’T THROW IN THE TOWEL: Towels take up a lot of space so it is worth investing in a lightweight travel version that dries quickly. Dock & Bay beach towel for Travel, £6 down from £9 at amazon.co.uk, is super-absorbent and can double up as a picnic blanket.
