If there’s anything clear about the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard trial it’s this: Boo-boos were made.
The ongoing defamation trial was mocked during the cold open for “Saturday Night Live” over the weekend, with comedians poking fun at the human feces a housekeeper allegedly found on the ex-couple’s shared bed.
“Mr. Depp, earlier in this trial, you mentioned that Ms. Heard left fecal matter in your bed,” Aidy Bryant, playing a lawyer, said to Kyle Mooney as Depp. “That is correct,” he replied.
The sketch then cut to fictionalized security footage of Kenan Thompson posing as property manager Leonard Green and discovering the large pile of feces in the bed.
“That’s a boo-boo!” Thompson exclaimed in character, seconds after lifting up a blanket to uncover the cause of the raunchy scent he smelled.
He then summoned in additional employees, played by Ego Nwodim, Chris Redd and Melissa Villaseñor, to join him in gaping at the “mess.”
In Depp’s real-life testimony on April 20, he alleged his security guard showed him a “photograph of our bed, and on my side of the bed, was human fecal matter.”
Per the initial testimony Depp gave in British court in 2020 – as part of the libel lawsuit he ultimately lost against UK’s The Sun — Heard or “possibly one of her friends” allegedly produced the bed-turd as a “prank” following a blowout fight between the exes one night prior. The alleged fight broke out after Depp showed up late to the actress’ 30th birthday.
Heard has maintained that one of their dogs were responsible; not her or her friends.
Notably, Heard was not depicted during Saturday’s cold opener and it’s unclear whether that was a deliberate call by “SNL” producers.
