Kate Middleton joined the Royal Family when she married Prince William in 2011. Meghan Markle married Prince Harry a few years later and the two royals are sister-in-laws. A body language expert gave a look into their relationship with Prince Charles, 71.

Prince Charles is the father of Prince William, 37, and Prince Harry, 35.
As a senior working member of the Royal Family, Kate has been spotted out with her father-in-law at many royal events.
While they appear to have a good relationship, body language expert Judi James suggested the pair might not be particularly close.
Analysing pictures of Kate and Charles for Express.co.uk, Judi commented there are signs of awkwardness.
She said: “There’s nothing to suggest a meeting of minds between Charles and Kate.
“When they are seen walking together Charles’s body language suggests he might be at a bit of a loss in terms of easy-going conversation.
“His hand is shoved into his pocket to suggest some feelings of awkwardness and he looks away from Kate with a dipped head and the spatial gap between them will often look quite pronounced.”
When Kate is with her father-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge seems more formal than familiar, the expert suggested.
“Kate’s body language always looks respectful and careful with her father-in-law,” Judi explained.
“Although her air of polite caution might not resonate with Charles, it is clear she is exactly what he needed as the kind of calming and non-disruptive daughter in law that will help hold the fractured royal firm together by never putting a foot wrong.”
When Meghan Markle joined the Royal Family, she also started working as a senior royal.
Although Meghan and Prince Harry have now stepped back from this role, the Duchess of Sussex has attended many events with Prince Charles in the past.
- How ‘anxious’ Meghan and ‘leader’ Harry swapped roles
Contrasting his relationship with Kate, Prince Charles seems to have a friendly bond with Meghan.
Judi added: “Meghan’s rather more intense and confident approach seems to have created some moments of what look like closeness between herself and Charles.
“Their eye contact and proximity during what looks like a very mutual conversation suggests Charles is far more engaged than he has seemed with Kate.”
Prince Charles and Meghan have looked happy to chat casually and Judi explained this could be down to their similar interests.
She told Express.co.uk: “Instead of being in ‘performer’ mode as he often is with Kate, holding forth and enjoying being the centre of attention, his communication signals with Meghan suggest a much more grown-up, shared form of chatting.
“There appears to be more tuning in between Charles and Meghan and it is probably true to say they share more personality traits, like a passion for campaigning and even more spiritual thinking.”
Meghan and Prince Charles have both been active in campaigning for things they believe in over the years.
These shared ideas might have helped them form a close relationship after Meghan joined the family.
