An osteopath has revealed the one stretch he does everyday for better spine health.  

Brendon Talbot, a Canadian health practitioner who specialises in bone and muscle tissue, posted a video to his social media pages showing the ‘best back stretch’ using an exercise ball. 

However, he did say to stop the stretch if it causes discomfort or pain and that it’s very important to always seek medical advice before trying something new. 

Mr Talbot said demonstrated the exercise by lying on an exercise ball with his legs at a 90 degree angle and stretching his back over the ball with his arms above his head.

‘This feels amazing,’ he captioned the post.  

Mr Talbot detailed the steps saying to find an exercise ball and ‘slide forward so your hips are in front of the ball’. 

‘Try to keep your knees and ankles at 90 degrees, allow your back to extend over the ball’ he wrote in the clip.

‘To increase tension, raise both arms over your head,’ he added.

He demonstrated the simple movement in a now-viral video on his popular TikTok and Instagram pages that has racked up more than 110,600 views collectively and hundreds of positive responses. 

‘I’ve been doing this for three months now and it’s been helping my back,’ one viewer said.

 Mr Talbot has gained a loyal following online and has more than 1.7million fans on TikTok for posting videos with informative tips and tricks on how to improve bodily function

In a previous clip, he recommended four quick and easy exercises for relieving neck pain and stiffness which can cause headaches and a congested sinus.

Mr Talbot demonstrated the movements starting with the first exercise where, sitting on a couch, he pulls down on the skin over the sternum, and extends his head backwards. 

For the second movement, he recommends letting the head fall forwards and rolling it from side to side. 

‘Decreasing cervical soft tissue restriction in the neck can help improve circulation to and from the head,’ he wrote in the clip.

Finally, sitting up straight, he recommended pushing the head straight back to give himself a double chin and forward again.  

He advised to stop any movements immediately if they cause pain or discomfort.
