Kate Middleton’s Christmas Day style evolution from her first official year as a Royal to now

The Duchess of Cambridge always looks perfectly festive when stepping out on Christmas Day.

Since marrying Prince William in 2011, Kate Middleton’s stunning seasonal looks for the annual Christmas Day service at Sandringham Church have always caught our attention.

And while she never breaks the Royal dress code, Kate always manages to look incredible.

Although the royals may be celebrating a little differently again this year, let’s take a look back at Kate’s gorgeous Christmas day outfits since she joined the Royal family…

2011

To mark her first Christmas as the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate donned a stunning dark berry coat dress, paired with a matching statement hat by Jane Corbett. She also accessorised with shimmering diamond drop earrings.

2013

It was Kate and William’s first Christmas as parents, as Kate gave birth to Prince George in April 2013. And to mark the occasion, Kate looked elegant as she recycled an old favourite, a green and blue check coat by Alexander McQueen, and a green beret-style fascinator.

2014

Kate and William hosted Christmas in 2014, inviting Kate’s parents, sister Pippa and brother James for the day.

However they did still make it to the church service and of course, Kate’s attire was impeccable. The Duchess, who was six months pregnant at the time, wore a tweed coat with coordinating hat by Lock and Co, and matching gloves.

2015

The Duchess wore a gorgeous forest green coat by Sportsmax, accessorised with a black hat by Lock and Co.

Kate brought a touch of festive sparkle by adding simple diamond drop earrings and a diamond brooch, along with a belt to accentuate her slender figure, and give the coat little more shape.

2016

2016 marked the first year where we had Christmas Day appearances from Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Kate looked chic as always as she wrapped up in a chocolate brown coat by Hobbs, which she previously wore in 2012. The Duchess added a ruby red fur scarf and belt to the look for that extra bit of glamour.

2017

In 2017, we saw Kate and William joined by their now sister-in-law Meghan Markle alongside Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Cambridge opted for a more casual headpiece, rather than her usual formal headwear, as she wore a furry black hat, teaming the cosy piece with a tartan coat by Miu Miu.

2018

The Duchess gave us a stunning look in 2018. Kate’s stylish outfit consisted of a red coat, a red Mulberry clutch and a classic pair of Gianvito Rossi burgundy heels. She teamed the festive look with a halo headband by Jane Taylor London.

2019

Matching sweetly with her daughter Princess Charlotte, who looked pretty in green, Kate donned a chic fur trimmed coat by Catherine Walker, accessorised with a dark green fascinator by Lock & Co Hatters.

She completed the look with a matching clutch and Emmy London court heels.
