Kate Middleton: Why is Duchess of Cambridge often seen with one unusual item?

Whenever a royal steps out, they are sure to catch a lot of attention.

Kate will usually attract attention by wearing stylish items from her royal wardrobe.

The Duchess also has access to many pieces of stunning and expensive jewellery which she will sometimes wear on outings.

However, it is a slightly less glamorous item that has caught the attention of some royal fans.

The mother-of-three will often wear light coloured plasters on her hand to cover up small injuries.

Last year, she attended the Chelsea Flower Show sporting a nude plaster on her right thumb.

In 2018, the royal covered up with a plaster as she attended the Tusk Conservation Awards in London.

The Duchess even covered her thumb with a plaster when visiting Bradford earlier this month.

Kate was reportedly spotted wearing plasters as early as 2008 and they have drawn attention as it is not something other royals will do as often.

The royal has three children, Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, one.

She may have more scrapes than other royals, but this is likely down to being a mum of three young children.

At the Chelsea Flower Show, Kate also revealed she is a keen gardener, which could explain the small injuries.

When Buckingham Palace was asked about the presence of a plaster, they told The Mirror: “We have no comment on the plaster.”

The royal has also drawn attention over the years by showcasing pieces of jewellery that once belonged to Princess Diana.

Prince William seems to have had access to some of his mother’s jewels and has gifted them to his wife.

Kate has worn the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara to important events, such as at state dinners, over the years.

The item comes with a huge price tag and could sell for as much as £19million at auction, an expert revealed.

Eddie Le Vian, Le Vian CEO, told Express.co.uk: “The Lover’s Knot Tiara has 19 diamond arches with 19 hanging pearls, all set in silver and gold.

“I estimate from having seen photographs of this tiara that it is made up of 85 carats of diamonds, the largest of which are three carats each, while the 19 pearls appear to be natural.

“I would value this tiara at approximately $3million and at auction, well in excess of $25million.”

Most notably, Kate has worn the sapphire and diamond engagement ring that once belonged to Princess Diana.

The ring was given to Princess Diana by Prince Charles when they got engaged in 1981 and Prince William propsed to Kate Middleton with the jewel.

It was believed to be worth £28,000 at the time it was given to Princess Diana, but the valuation has since soared to £300,000.

She has also worn the matching earrings several times since her wedding to Prince William.
