The chip aisle is heating up with the spiciest Tostitos to date and the brand tapped a dynamite comedic duo to kick things off.
On Thursday, Tostitos announced its “For the Love of Chips and Dip and…” campaign, which is meant to fuel the moments shared with friends over everyone’s shared love of chips and dip.
In a new ad, Kate McKinnon and Dan Levy eat the habanero-flavored chips and continually one-up the other in their quintessential dramatic and witty banter to describe just how spicy the new flavor really tastes.
The new tortilla chips are seasoned with real habanero pepper to deliver a pop of spice in the fan-favorite bite-size shape.
A second commercial with McKinnon and Levy set to debut April 3 will feature the pair’s memorable moments together and showcase the all-too-relatable experience of communicating through an unspoken bond like facial expressions and body language.
Tostitos also created an interactive lens on Snapchat that rolls out April 6 so that, like Levy and McKinnon, fans can “one-up” each other on the social media platform.
“Tostitos’ ambition is to fuel togetherness and help bring people closer to those they love by telling the stories of connections friends share and things they love to do together,” Anya Schmidt, senior director of marketing for Frito-Lay, said. “This new campaign with Kate McKinnon and Dan Levy showcases some of the ways that these moments are made, all while enjoying Tostitos chips and dip.”
Tostitos Habanero is available nationwide for $4.29 for an 11-ounce bag.
