'Cringe' man is caught messaging women on Instagram for BT login

Woman reveals how Instagram admirer who called her ‘gorgeous’ swiftly asked if he could use her BT sport account (and dozens of women claim he’s done the same to them)

Many people will borrow a friend’s account to watch a new show online, but one social media user has been caught in an attempting to woo strangers online in order to to get a login for BT sport.

Ellis McBride, from north east England, took to Twitter to share a screenshot of her Instagram messages from a now deleted account  ‘Lukey_p96’ – which first complimented her by calling her ‘gorgeous’ before swiftly seeing if she could help him watch premier league football.

Hundreds of people replied to the tweet, calling out the user’s ‘audacity’ and cheek, while dozens of women shared he’d sent the same messages to them.

The social media user pointed out the ‘audacity’ of the man in her DMs before hundreds replied saying they had the same messages 

‘Lukey’ – who was using a photo of someone else in his profile – started many of the conservation by messaging women on Instagram to say ‘You are absolutely gorgeous babe’.

In the next message, he told them ‘Ngl I don’t think I’d be able to keep my hand to myself’ before then asking for the login.

‘I know this is random babe, but do you have a BT sport account that you wouldn’t mind me using? I wanna watch the footy, absolute lifesaver if you do,’ he said. 

One woman shared a reply saying she didn’t have one, to which he replied: ‘No worries, my k******* uncle cancelled his subscription’.

Lots of women said they had the same message from ‘Lukey’ while others called him out for cheek

As well as the BT sport message, many women shared he’d used the same chat up lines on them.

 ‘Aw I don’t feel special anymore,’ one woman wrote sharing a screenshot.

‘NOOO no way, he did try the exact same thing on me,’ laughed another.

‘The BT Sport line is probably less cringey/creepy than the hands line though,’ said another. 


As well as the BT sport message, many women shared he’d used the same chat up lines on them 

Twitter users branded the message ‘cringe’ and ‘the worst thing they’d ever seen’ 

‘What the actual f***is wrong with men?????’ said one.

‘My god prestige master moocher,’ added another.  

‘Men just don’t know how to give you a compliment and go,’ wrote a third.  

‘That’s one of the worst things I’VE actually ever seen,’ a fourth wrote.    

‘I’m cringing how can men just exist, ‘wrote a fifth.
