Founded in South Africa in the early 1990s, Shaka became renowned for its range of functional outdoors sandals designed to be worn across a plethora of harsh environments. After abruptly vanishing in 2000, the company’s strong success in the Japanese market encouraged domestic entrepreneurs to purchase the license to Shaka, eventually relaunching in 2013.
Continuing in the same vein, the label continued to produce footwear with the same characteristics as the original designs and still does today with durable webbed uppers and cushioned sole units housed on a variety of open-toe silhouettes.
For Spring/Summer 2021 Shaka serves up a mix of bold prints and muted colorways, resulting in a range suitable for all summer aesthetics. Incorporating webbing tape and shark tooth grip outsole, each style offers up an array of stylish looks, that are simultaneously durable and thus wearable in a multitude of environments.
