Christie’s is auctioning off a pair of Michael Jordan‘s game-worn and signed Air Jordan 13 in the “He’s Got Game” colorway.
This pair of Air Jordan 13s are iconic to his historic 1997-98 NBA season with the Chicago Bulls. That season, Jordan averaged 28.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists throughout his 82 games. He also won his fifth MVP award and sixth finals MVP award, as well as his sixth NBA championship. The season, better known as the Chicago Bulls‘ Last Dance, marks the final season Jordan released a sneaker as a member of the Chicago Bulls.
This specific pair was seen in the documentary The Last Dance and was worn in Jordan’s final regular-season game of the Chicago Bulls’ Last Dance Championship season against the New York Knicks. The silhouette was designed by Tinker Hatfield and was inspired by Jordan’s “Black Cat” nickname. The shoe features a holographic emerald jewel at the heel, resembling a panther’s eye while the outsole resembles that of a panther’s paw. Featuring the “He’s Got Game” colorway in white, true red and black and the dimpled midfoot overlays, the pair was initially gifted by Jordan to the Hall of Fame basketball player and sports commentator Isiah Thomas.
Christie’s is set to auction the pair online from November 24 to December 9, 2021. Those in New York can see the pair in person at previews from December 3 to 7, 2021 at Christie’s New York at 20 Rockefeller Center. Check out Christie’s for more information.
