Maharishi Teams Up With G.H. Bass & Co for Loafer Revamp

Maharishi has partnered with G.H. Bass & Co. for a collaboration that reworks the shoemaker’s Weejun Penny Loafer and introduces subtle camouflage accents.

The loafer is handcrafted in premium natural leather, featuring an all-over deboss pattern using Maharishi’s own “Bonsai Forest” camouflage pattern. The union blends Maharishi’s focus on environmentally-conscious and durable utilitarian clothing with G.H. Bass & Co’s dedication to producing honest footwear.

G.H. Bass & Co, who made the world’s first penny loafer, has carried over the same technique in its collaboration with Maharishi. The shoe, which comes in black and wine colorways, will be available on Maharishi’s website Friday, August 6 at 11 AM BST.

Recently, Maharishi’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection brought back one of the brand’s early sources of inspiration — the mythical dragon and phoenix. For the collection, the brand featured a modern take on their typically utilitarian concepts. For an eye-catching look, summer shirts made of vegetable-dyed Japanese cupro twill came in a number of colors and featured woven embroidery. Additionally, army-style parkas were updated with embroidery and kimono-style collars.
