'Barbie' Movie Soundtrack Features Ice Spice, Tame Impala, Nicki Minaj and More

Ahead of Barbie‘s premiere on July 21, Warner Bros. has pulled back the curtain on the film’s star-stacked soundtrack, titled BARBIE: THE ALBUM.

The project, which releases the same day as the movie, features contributions from Ice Spice, Tame Impala, Nicki Minaj, Charli XCX, Dua Lipa, Dominic Fike, the Kid Laroi, Gayle, HAIM, Kali, Karol G, Khalid, Fifty Fifty, PinkPantheress and Ava Max — and that’s not even the full list. More artists will be announced as the film’s premiere date approaches, according to Rolling Stone.

The record features executive production from Mark Ronson, who previously joined forces with Lipa on “Electricity,” as part of Silk City. Lipa, who also stars in the movie as Mermaid Barbie, revealed that her single on the soundtrack, “Dance The Night,” will arrive early on Thursday of this week.

Ryan Gosling, who stars in the film as Ken, also appears on the soundtrack. Though acting is his main beat, the star, who used to have a band called Dead Man’s Bones, has taken to the microphone on a handful of occasions. Most notably, he flexed his singing skills in Damien Chazelle’s Oscar-winning pic, La La Land. Margot Robbie, who will play the titular Barbie, on the other hand, does not appear on the soundtrack.

Sadly, Aqua, the Denmark group behind the explosive track “Barbie Girl,” does not appear on the initial lineup — but stay tuned as Warner Bros. uncovers the remaining featured artists as the film’s release date nears.

In more music news, Offset revealed that he is not biologically related to Quavo and Takeoff.
