Italian celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo has opened up about the one thing his family didn’t like to do when they were filming for his new show. The This Morning chef, 45, is set to star in a new ITV series alongside his family, but has since admitted that it wasn’t always easy to film their adventures.

I think there is a lot of off-camera things that people don’t see

Gino will feature alongside his wife, Jessica, and children, Luciano, 18, Rocco, 15, and Mia, seven, in Gino and Family’s Italian Adventure.

However, the star has since opened up on his family’s biggest pet peeve ahead of the show’s debut.

While Gino told that, for the most part, he loved filming the seven-part series, he admitted that it wasn’t always enjoyable.

Talking about filming a kayaking expedition, the star asserted that the excursion “wasn’t fun at all”.

Speaking for the whole of the D’Acampo family, Gino said that the five of them “hate anything that requires our body to move”.

Gino explained: ““Walking – never done it, kayaking – never done it.

“Any kind of exploring, camping – forget about it.

“We are the worst family to do something like that, simple as that,” he told The Sun’s TV Mag.

However, the chef admitted that they managed to make the activity “look fun” and kept a pressing question firmly off-camera.

He said: “I think there is a lot of off-camera things that people don’t see, that people go, ‘when the f*** are we going to finish this?’

“I think there must be loads of that,” he added.

This summer saw the third series of Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip return to the small screen.

Alongside Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix, Gino travelled to Greece to immerse himself in the culinary traditions and spectacular landscapes in the birthplace of civilisation.

However, just days ago, the star faced calls from This Morning viewers to “get off” the screen after he left them horrified with his rude comments.

The TV chef was discussing the death of Ado Campeol, who’s dubbed “the father of Tiramisu”.

Whilst looking at a map of Italy’s regions with presenter Holly Willoughby, the Italian cook soon made some cheeky comments which left ITV viewers stunned.

Pointing towards Holly’s chest Gino said: “On the other side is Treviso – so Treviso is where Ado came from so it could be very…” he started before Phillip raised his concerns.

As he began to shake his head, his co-host Holly began to move away.

Their colleague went on: “So, it’s more inland, so… er, I can technically say that I spent my youth training and playing around your vagina.”

“Oh my God!” Holly, 40, remarked, which was echoed by Phillip.

Gino and Family’s Italian Adventure airs at 8pm tonight on ITV.
