Ex-EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite reportedly leapt into the swimming pool fully-clothed after noticing that some kids were having difficulties in the water. A source has claimed that many were left “shaken” by the incident, but her quick-thinking actions saved the lives of the youngsters, who had been celebrating a 7th birthday.

“Tamzin is a hero. She leapt into the water without hesitation.

“It was very dramatic,” one witness told The Sun.

She reportedly jumped in to help the youngest child first, before returning to help two older kids to safety.

It is unknown if the children involved were her own.

The 50-year-old actress is mum to Florence, 13, and Marnie, eight, who she shares with ex-husband Tom Ellis.

“Without a second’s doubt she entered the pool and plucked the youngest child to safety, before grabbing the other two,” an onlooker told the publication.

“She reacted so fast that nobody else had even gone into the water by the time they were all safe,” they added.

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Tamzin for comment.

According to the report, a number of doctors were present at the party and were able to check the children over.

They gave them a clean bill of health.

Tamzin is best known for playing Mel Owen in EastEnders.

She first appeared on Albert Square in 1998 and was a regular in the BBC soap opera until 2002.

The TV star reprised her role in 2018 for a year.

Over the years, she has also starred in a number of television shows including Holly Babylon, New Tricks, and The Fixer.

More recently, she took part in ITV’s The Masked Dancer.

The mum-of-two came fourth in the contest after impressing judges as her alter-ego, Scarecrow.

Tamzin’s daughters had no idea that she was taking part in the show.

Holly Willoughby, who was a guest judge on the episode she was unveiled in, was equally shocked.

The 40-year-old This Morning presenter is married to Dan Baldwin, who is the cousin of Tamzin.

The former soap star said it was “quite a moment” when the whole family sat down to watch the programme.
