Stephanie Davis says she’s the ‘comeback queen’ as she returns to spotlight after beating addiction

Stephanie Davis has branded herself the "comeback queen" after announcing she's returning to the spotlight after taking a year out to sort out her personal life.

The 27 year old, who recently threw shade at Jeremy McConnell as she admitted she wouldn't "go near" ex boyfriends now, took to her Instagram feed to tell her 1million followers about everything she's managed to overcome, from alcohol addiction to her mental health struggles.

The Hollyoaks actress, who is most well known for portraying Sinead O'Connor on the popular soap opera, started by thanking all her fans, friends and family for their support.

She wrote: "Hi everyone. Firstly if like to say Thank you to all my followers & to my supporters for your constant support! [sic]

"I would like to thank you for supporting me and respecting my decision when I wanted to take a year out of the industry & public eye. I’d also like to say a big Thank you to my family & by family I also mean my best friends too." [sic]

The actress, who is mum to three year old son Caben with ex Jeremy, continued by detailing all of the highs and lows of being in the public eye over the last 10 years.

"I have been in the industry for over 10 years, the whole time trying to figure out this crazy thing called LIFE & trying to do that In front of a camera lens & behind a character I have played for many years..was difficult," [sic] she said.

"You have watched me grow up on TV, go through hard times, learn my biggest lessons, you watched me find who I really am, become a mother and grow as a parent and as a person."

Stephanie, who recently opened up on her suicide attempt as she insisted she's in a "really good place now", continued: "You have watched me suffer with my mental health & addiction , but then come through the other side & reach my goals like winning Best Actress.

She continued: "After over 10 years of madness I needed to take a year to be there for my son & my self. I am so grateful I had that time, it’s been an amazing over a year of dating my self and spending quality time with my son & loved ones."

Stephanie ended her statement by announcing her return and detailing all of the exciting new projects she has coming up in 2021 as she said: "The good thing is…I’m now BACK ( and this time for good! ) [sic]
