Loose Women panellist Stacey Solomon, 31, has taken to Instagram to update her 4.5 million followers on her two-year-old son Rex’s condition after he came out of surgery this afternoon. The pregnant star, who shares Rex with her fiancé Joe Swash, 39, stayed in hospital overnight on Monday with the little one so he could have stitches on his lip today after a “nightmare” fall.
Stacey was left feeling tearful after Rex’s operation, as he has been in and out of hospital over the past few days.
Sharing her emotional reaction over being reunited with her youngest child, the mum-of-three shared a photo of herself clutching onto Rex’s hand.
The tot was wearing his hospital gown and his bracelet as he recovered from the surgery.
“I got my pickle back,” Stacey captioned the photo, emphasising her teary state with big eyes and crying emojis.
“Love you all to the moon and back,” she added alongside several tearful emojis.
Fortunately, Stacey shared she was shedding happy tears, as she told fans Rex’s operation had gone “so well”.
She penned in a follow-up post: “Everything went so well. We will be back home soon.
“Thank you for your lovely kind messages… thank you to everyone here at @bhrut_nhs [Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust] from giving birth here to fixing the pickles your staff and everyone who works so hard in your trust have always been so amazing.
“And I know first hand how busy and hard worked you all are. So grateful to our NHS always and forever… Thank you for all that you do.
“You’re so incredible. And we are so lucky to have you.”
Alongside her heartfelt words, Stacey shared a selfie showing her smiling while cuddling Rex, who was wrapped in a blue blanket.
The Tap To Tidy author had decorated Rex’s hospital room with a fake plant and some blankets to help the duo feel more at home.

Explaining her choice of decor during their hospital stay, Stacey said: “Honestly, I can’t tell you what a fake plant and a blanket do to a room.
“It makes me feel so much less worried when I bring home things with me to these places.
“Thank you all for being so lovely.”
Before Rex went in for his surgery, Stacey opened up on her worries.
“He’s gone in,” the star informed fans.
She added: “Thinking of all the mummies, daddies and carers and extremely brave pickles who have to do this all of the time. It’s not nice at all.
“You’re amazing, honestly, you really are.”
The family’s hospital dash came after Rex suffered a fall in the garden of their home, Pickle Cottage, on Sunday.
