Our Yorkshire Farm fans emotional over final episode as they demand show return

Viewers of Our Yorkshire Farm were devastated upon learning that Tuesday night's instalment would be the last episode in the series.

The Channel 5 show has taken the nation by storm since its launch in 2018 and looks at the lives of hill shepherds Amanda and Clive Owen, who have admitted they are currently going through a "rocky patch", and their nine children.

However, ahead of Tuesday night's episode, Channel 5 confirmed that it would be the last in the series and made no further announcement on whether a sixth season was in the works.

Fans of the show couldn't help but rush to Twitter to share their disappointment at the news.

One person tweeted: "Last episode Pleading face gutted is an understatement! The most amazing family. I'm actually gonna miss watching them! Red heart #ouryorkshirefarm."

Another added: "#OurYorkshireFarm To me, the last programme of the series had a real sense of finality, as if it's the very end and there won't be any more. I do hope that I am wrong!"

"Well that all seemed a bit final, didn't it? #OurYorkshireFarm," said a third.

A fourth wrote: "#OurYorkshireFarm What a wonderful finale to the series. I also felt there was a "goodbye". Maybe I'm being over sensitive. They're such a lovely family. Perhaps they need more privacy now."

During the final episode, viewers watched as Amanda and Clive's youngest daughter Nancy headed to school for the first time.

The pair reflected on how life would be for them now that none of their nine children would be around them during the weekdays.

"Not having them there on a day-to-day basis feels strange. But we'll be alright," Amanda said, while Clive said he was happy about the new chapter in their lives.

Things, however, haven't been too smooth for Amanda and Clive lately as they recently revealed they are currently going through some difficulties in their marriage.

The Sun first broke the news that the couple's relationship was going through a difficult period as a source told them: "It's incredibly sad. Amanda and Clive are two hugely popular figures here in the Dales, and no one saw this coming.

"Clive loves Amanda to bits and adores her, and fears the marriage may be failing even though he desperately doesn't want it to. He fears they will divorce."

The insider went on to claim that Clive believes this will be the last series they film together as the future will be about "looking after the kids and putting them first".

According to the source, the pair will stay together for Christmas 2021 and then the "decision is very much in Amanda's hands."

"He will do as he's told," the source said.

In a joint statement provided to OK!, Clive and Amanda later shared: "With the TV show and the books we've always aimed to show the reality of life on the farm, and just like any marriage we have our stresses and strains, coupled with all the complexities of what we do on the farm and bringing up nine kids.

"We're a normal family, and we've never said our marriage is perfect. Unfortunately, the constant intrusion into our lives from the media has amplified a rocky patch that we're going through. We ask that the media respect our privacy as we work through this."

They share nine children – Raven, 20, Reuben, 17, Miles, 15, Edith, 12, Violet, ten, Sidney, nine, Anna, seven, Clemmie, five, and Nancy, four.
