Lord Sugar shared a video of himself arriving in Cannes earlier this week on his social media page, as the country welcomed back visitors. He wrote: “Arriving Cannes today. First time France since 1967 where my passport was stamped.”(sic)

Most recently, the 74-year-old told fans about a restaurant he will be visiting this evening.

The businessman wrote: “I am going to a restaurant tonight in France owned by a Scottish guy who invited me to watch the game.

“I think I will eat and drink before the game in case he tries to poison me.”

In response to his post, a Twitter user queried: “Are you allowed to be in France. Is it essential?”

In view of his 7.2 million followers, he wrote back: “Anyone who has 2 jabs and a negative covid test can come into France.

“When you come back to UK you have to quarantine. So the reason for my visit is none of your business.”

France officially reopened its borders on June 9.

The UK is currently on France’s amber list, meaning quarantine is compulsory after the trip.

According to the Government website, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office advises against all but essential travel to the whole of France based on the current assessment of COVID-19 risks.

To enter the country, visitors will have to provide a negative PCR test result within 72 hours of departure (or antigen test within 48 hours of departure) and can either prove you are fully vaccinated or have a compelling reason for entry.

In an earlier tweet, The Apprentice star detailed the amount of Covid tests he had taken.

He wrote: “Since the pandemic I have had 24 tests all Negative (including 12 in Oz studio to make Apprentice) 2 Pfizer jabs.

“I don’t have covid but I do have a broken septum.”

Lord Sugar’s tweets come after he made an appearance on the launch night of GB News last week.

The businessman was asked a series of questions by journalist Dan Wooton, but one in particular seemed to hit a nerve.

The latter queried Lord Sugar about football fans booing those who take the knee, in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

He then asked him whether he had taken the knee, like Labour leader Keir Starmer.

Baffled by his question, the father-of-three replied: “”Where would I take the knee, in Sainsbury’s?”

“What a stupid f***ing question. I don’t play football, why would I take the knee?”
