Missing Utah Student Knows Possible Abductor, Friend Says

A college friend of missing University of Utah student Mackenzie Lueck believes the 23-year-old knows the person she was last seen with, RadarOnline.com can report.

In an interview with Radar, Lueck’s sorority sister, Kennedy Stoner, claimed her friend would never willingly get into a car with someone she doesn’t know.

“I don’t think she would just be meeting someone for the first time at 3 a.m.,” Stoner said of her friend. “That’s just not who she is and that sounds dangerous. I know she’s smarter than that.”

According to the Salt Lake City Police Department, Lueck went missing in the early morning hours of June 17 after she returned to Utah after visiting her home state of California.

The college student took a Lyft ride from the airport and had the driver drop her off at Hatch Park in North Salt Lake City. Police confirmed the Lyft driver has since been cleared by police and is cooperating with authorities.

The Lyft driver witnessed Lueck get into another vehicle but could not see whether or not Lueck’s possible abductor was a male or female. The Lyft employee also informed police that she did not seem distressed when getting into the second vehicle.

Now, Stoner told Radar that the 23-year-old’s loved ones are left wondering who Lueck could have met. Multiple online users claimed the missing student lived a “double life” on dating apps meant for women who seek out “sugar daddies.”

Stoner said if the claims that her friend was on these dating apps or websites were true, it would be “shocking.”

“She’s definitely mentioned casually dating around but she’s never been like, ‘Hey, I’m dating this older man,” the friend continued.

The sorority sister described Lueck as “just the sweetest, most genuine person.”

“The last four years I’ve known her I’ve hardly ever seen her have bad blood with anyone,” Stoner continued.

Lueck was supposed to return to California in the last week for a wedding but missed her flight. Authorities have also confirmed that Lueck’s cell phone has been off since she went missing.

“It’s very unlike her,” Stoner continued. “The fact that it’s been over a week is the most alarming part. I know Kenzie is thinking of everyone else. She knows people are worried right now. She would have definitely reached out by now if she was able to.”

The Salt Lake City Police Department detectives ask that anyone with information of Lueck’s whereabouts should contact the department at 801-799-3000.
