Mark Labbett sparked a social media frenzy after The Chase favourite uploaded a selfie that highlighted his youthful appearance. It comes as the quizzing champion has embarked on a weight loss journey in recent years.

The 56-year-old unveiled his latest haircut in a new photo on Instagram which caught the attention of his 26,300 followers.

Mark beamed in the snap as fans gushed over his slimmed-down physique.

The on-screen star sported a t-shirt as he prepared to catch up with the latest episode of Beat The Chasers.

He captioned the post: “Hair cut by wee Dave, all ready to get back to work crushing dreams 🙂 #thechase.”

Fans inundated the comment section, as Elaine gushed: “Looking good my friend!”

Carol Horan wrote: “How fit and healthy are you looking.”

“Wow, the weight loss! Amazing,” Lara Dawn remarked.

English Mama added: “Mark, you look great! Health looks good on you.”

In recent months, the 6ft 6in chaser, best known as The Beast on the ITV show, has sported a much slimmer physique.

The TV star opened up about his weight loss and admitted it was down to being diagnosed with diabetes in 2017.

Addressing shedding the pounds, the TV star credited spending time with his young son during the lockdown in 2020.

The quizzer, who shares a child with his wife Katie Labbett, admitted he had his work cut out for him with his little one.

“I had been getting fit anyway being in lockdown because my wife works as a nurse and I was the primary carer for our son,” Mark explained.

“And I soon found that looking after an active three-year-old is tough.”

He continued: “Looking after a hyperactive toddler when you are a 50-something overweight man is even tougher.

“The weight just fell off me just chasing after him.”

He added: “Now that we’ve got through lockdown, I want to continue the good work, as it were, and not let the weight pile on.”

Meanwhile, Mark is back on viewers’ screens tonight for a celebrity special of Beat The Chasers.

Famous faces including Carol Vorderman, Joel Dommett, Adrian Chiles, Samia Longchambon and Simon Weston will be taking on the chasers.

Beat The Chasers airs tonight on ITV at 9pm.
