Justin Bieber, 28, has announced the cancellation of the remaining leg of his world tour. The Peaches hitmaker cited his health concerns as the reason for pulling out of the Justice World Tour – which started in March.
Justin took to his Instagram last night to share his decision with his 256 million followers, following the Sorry hitmaker’s Rock In Rio performance in Brazil.
In a lengthy statement, Justin explained he wanted to take time off to concentrate on his health after being diagnosed with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome earlier this year.
Justin penned: “Earlier this year, I went public about my battle with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, where my face was partly paralyzed.
“As the result of this illness, I was not able to complete the North America leg of the Justice Tour.
“After resting and consulting with my doctors, family and team, I went to Europe in an effort to continue with the tour.
“I performed six live shows but it took a real toll on me.”
The singer, who is married to model Hailey Bieber, continued: “This past weekend, I performed at Rock in Rio and I gave everything I have to the people in Brazil.
“After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now.
“So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being.
“I’m going to be okay but I need time to rest and get better.”
Justin finished off his announcement by reflecting upon the part of the tour he was able to complete as he thanked fans for their support.
He concluded: “I’ve been so proud to bring this show and our message of Justice to the world.
“Thank you for your prayers and support throughout all of this! I love you all passionately.”
In June this year, Justin sparked health concerns among fans after sharing images and a video of his facial paralysis due to his Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome diagnosis.
The syndrome is a rare neurological disorder characterised by paralysis of the facial nerve (facial palsy) and a rash affecting the ear or mouth.
In a three-minute video, the musician asked fans to pray for him as he explained the symptoms that were affecting him.
He said in the footage: “Hey everyone Justin here, I wanted to update you guys on what’s been going on.
“Obviously as you can probably see with my face.
“I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
“It is from this virus that attacks the nerves in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis.”
