Musical theatre star Louise Redknapp has admitted that “no one” is hitting up her phone to ask her out, insisting that it’s because she’s “old now”. The ex-wife of former footballer Jamie Redknapp has previously spoken candidly about regretting ending her 19-year marriage, but is now “taking each day as it comes”.
Ex-Liverpool footballer Jamie, 48, married his pregnant girlfriend, model Frida Andersson, at Chelsea Registry Office in London last month.
The sports star was previously married to former Eternal singer Louise between 1998 and 2017.
The couple share two sons: Charley, 16, and Beau, 12.
While Louise, 47, admitted in her book, You’ve Got This: And Other Things I Wish I Had Known, that she wished she had tried harder to save their marriage, she appears to be in a better place now.
The mother-of-two has spoken candidly about her dating life in a recent interview, revealing that she doesn’t actually have a lot of men flooding her DMs.
When asked if she had hordes of men sliding into her DMs on social media, she responded: “I’m old now! No, I don’t. I promise. I will even show you my phone.”
“No one slides into my DMs, although to be honest, I don’t quite know how to look for them,” she explained. “Everyone assumes I’m inundated, but I’m not.”
“Maybe I give off a ‘just leave me be’ vibe. I’m happy doing me right now,” she told The Sun’s Fabulous Magazine.
This news might come as a surprise to some, as Louise was once a ’90s and early noughties sex symbol, even going on to win FHM’s title of Sexiest Woman of the Decade in 2004.
While the star generally avoids commenting on her ex-husband’s wedding to his new wife, it has been claimed that she is not over him yet.
Louise has remained single while Jamie has moved on, but she has credited her sons for being the ones who are encouraging her to get back out there.
“Oh yeah, they always say: ‘When are you going to [date]?’ Dating just takes time,” she revealed.

“It sounds basic, but I’ve got two things that are really important to me right now: my kids, because I want to be a solid part of their life, and my work.
“Right now, that’s enough for me, I’m not saying forever. I’m learning to just be OK with myself. I’m not loving myself, but I’ve been OK. I’m getting there,” she concluded.
Louise is currently performing in the UK tour of Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 The Musical in the role of Violet Newstead.
The star proved that she was more than just an accomplished singer, but also an impressive dancer, when she made it to the finals of Strictly Come Dancing in 2016.
While it is often cited as the catalyst for her marriage falling apart, Louise has maintained that she “doesn’t regret” competing in the dance competition.
Despite other reports claiming that Louise was too candid about her and Jamie’s break-up, she has insisted that she still stands by every word of it.
Louise was partnered with Kevin Clifton for the fourteenth season of Strictly, narrowly missing out lifting the Glitterball trophy alongside Danny Mac, after Ore Oduba won the competition.
The tour of 9 to 5 The Musical starts today at 7:30pm in the Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham.
