Dani Dyer feared she was going into labour a whole month early after experiencing ‘painful’ contractions.
The former Love Island star is expecting her first child with boyfriend Sammy Kimmence and is due to give birth in January.
However, Dani, 24, worried it was actually happening over the weekend thanks to Braxton Hicks contractions, which are regarded as false labour pains.
Sharing her initial panic with her Instagram followers, Dani said in her stories: ‘Last night I properly experienced those Braxton Hicks contraction things. Honestly, there’s so much that goes into being pregnant.
‘Woah, they were really painful. I was like what’s this, what’s that? But wow. They’re not very nice.’
She added: ‘I was just laying there like no baby you have a month yet. Getting up and walking around really helped then it settled so I could go back to sleep.’
When one follower revealed they thought they were in labour, Dani replied: ‘This was me. It’s crazy how our body works.’
Dani also admitted that she speaks to her midwife everyday, joking: ‘I don’t leave her alone.’
Explaining how she calmed herself down, the reality star said: ‘I read about them in a book weirdly enough yesterday so I felt like I knew exactly what they was [sic] when it was happening.’
Braxton Hicks aren’t the only sensations Dani has experienced during the pregnancy as she recently opened up about her ‘really frightening’ night terrors.
Recalling one dream where a woman, dressed in black, was stood in her kitchen with a black cat and she couldn’t move, Dani said: ‘I was standing in the kitchen and I could not move. It was like I was there. I could not wake myself up.
‘When I actually woke up, I was shaking. I had to wake Sammy up. I don’t know what Sammy’s gonna do!’
Dani shot to fame after winning Love Island in 2018 alongside ex-boyfriend Jack Fincham.
The pair moved in together after the show but split in April 2019. Shortly after, Dani reunited with Sammy who she previously dated before appearing on the dating series.
The couple announced their baby news in July with Dani writing on Instagram: ‘Little bubba can’t believe you are going to be ours. ‘Me and Sammy are so excited to start this next chapter in our lives, feel so lucky and grateful.. 2021.’
Sammy added: ‘To say I’m grateful is an understatement. Can’t wait to start my perfect little family with you 💙💝 baby Kimmence due 2021…..time to hang my boots up from vine FC.’
