Brett Young has shared a music video for “Lady,” featuring his 8-month-old daughter, Presley Elizabeth, and wife Taylor.
The video, directed by Seth Kupersmith, sees Young and his wife playing with the baby and spending time by the poolside. Young is also seen performing the song with an acoustic guitar.
The visual, which shows the kid wearing tiny sunglasses and a swimsuit, was filmed using just one camera and a drone.
“We have wanted this for so long and never could we have dreamed of something so beautiful and life-changing,” Brett and Taylor told People last year, shortly after their daughter’s birth. “She is perfect and we are forever better because she was given to us.”
Young rates “Lady” as one of the most special songs he has ever written. “I hope you guys can feel the love that’s deeply rooted in this song and see how the video really brings it to life,” he wrote on Instagram.
Young co-wrote the song with Ross Copperman and Jon Nite in July 2019, before Presley was born.
“I always knew I would want to write songs for my children, but didn’t realize the inspiration would come so quickly before my daughter was even born. It’s a message to Presley about her mom and it became a pretty obvious choice for my first single in a new chapter of music. It’s so meaningful to Taylor and I, and I hope it resonates in a similar way for anyone who listens,” Young said.
The song, which was released last month, will be part of his upcoming album.
