The 56th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards airs on April 21, and country music fans are looking forward to a star-studded award show with performances by Kane Brown, Carrie Underwood, Dan + Shay, Maren Morris, and, of course, country music legend and The Voice coach Blake Shelton (via Billboard). While Shelton’s been on country music fans’ radar for two nearly decades, thanks to the success of his debut 2001 single, “Austin,” which catapulted him into the limelight.
“It sounds goofy, but my goal right now is, I just want a song to break through the Top 10,” Shelton told Nash Country Weekly in 2001 (via The Boot). “It’s real important for me to have a Top 10 record at some point in my career. And that’s about as long-term as it gets for me right now. I’m really, really concentrating on this single and this current album. That’s about as far as I can see right now.”
Fast forward twenty years later, and Shelton has built quite the career for himself — from eight Grammy nominations, ten Country Music Awards, and a long-running stint on NBC’s The Voice for a whopping twenty seasons over the last decade, it doesn’t look like Shelton’s career is slowing down any time soon.
Blake Shelton has built up a seriously impressive net worth since he burst onto the country music scene
Per Celebrity Net Worth, Blake Shelton is reportedly worth around $100 million. The outlet reports that in the early seasons of The Voice, he was making a pretty penny at $4 million per season — and given the fact that there are typically two seasons per year, Shelton was raking in $8 million per year from the singing competition show alone. The 44-year-old “God’s Country” singer’s salary only increased over his years as a coach on The Voice, and he reportedly makes a whopping $13 million per season now.
Celebrity Net Worth also reports that, since they began tracking his ticket sales, merchandise sales, and television salaries in 2011, Shelton’s grossed (at the very least) $180 million. He also reportedly makes about $1 million per concert.
You can catch Blake Shelton and the rest of country music’s hottest stars at the CMAs on April 21.
