Beyoncé Shares First Track From Upcoming ‘Lion King’ Album

Beyoncé has released a new single from an upcoming album, titled The Lion King: The Gift.

The song, called “Spirit,” is also a track in the live-action remake of the classic film The Lion King.

The Lion King reboot had its world premiere screening at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Tuesday night and will hit theaters nationwide on July 19.

“Spirit” was jointly written by Beyoncé, IIya Salmanzadeh and Timothy McKenzie.

Disney Studios shared the details of the album on Instagram Tuesday, accompanied by a photo of the singer and a lion.

“‘The Lion King: The Gift,’ a new album of songs featuring global recording artists and steeped in the sounds of Africa, produced and curated by @Beyonce Knowles-Carter, will be released July 19,” Disney Studios wrote.
