Amanda Holden, 50, has admitted her husband Chris Hughes, their two daughters, Lexi, 15, and Hollie, nine, often help her choose which outfits to wear for her television appearances. It comes after the Heart FM presenter sparked backlash from Britain’s Got Talent viewers over her low-cut dresses on the ITV show.

Although many of Amanda’s fans loved her dresses and gushed over her slender figure, 235 BGT fans also wrote to Ofcom to complain about one of the singer’s outfits last year, as they suggested they could see her nipples through its lacy bodice.

The star explained in a new interview that although she shares her concerns about “looking like mutton” on-screen with her other half, he is quick to dispel her fears.

Amanda divulged: “If I’m trying on outfits for shows I’ll say to [15-year-old daughter] Lexi: ‘Is there too much side-boob?’ or ‘Is this too much?’ and she’ll grin and say: ‘Go for it, Mum’.”

She added: “I’ll ask [husband] Chris if I’m looking like mutton and he says: ‘Mandy, you could never look like mutton’.

“It’s positive affirmation that we women need.”

Amanda went on to say her mum is also very supportive of her outfit choices despite the complaints they have prompted.

She continued to the Daily Mail’s You Magazine: “My mum loves it. She just laughs about it. So does my daughter.”

After Amanda faced Ofcom complaints due to her cleavage-baring gown in one of the BGT semi-final episodes in 2020, she took to social media to deny that her nipples were visible.

Sharing a screenshot of a headline about her controversial frock, she penned: “Mmmm really?!

“Who has nipples this close to their cleavage?!”

The star then added alongside some egg and laughing emojis: “FYI. A boned corset dented the girls all night.”

Amanda also insisted she is very comfortable with her body and often strolls around her house naked.

She revealed to the publication that she once cooked a roast dinner for her family without any clothes on.

She said: “I was quite literally the Naked Chef.

“I got out of the shower, realised I was running late to get everything on the table so I didn’t bother to get dressed.

“I just raced downstairs, got the potatoes on, the meat in the oven and my veggie option. It definitely made it more interesting.”

Meanwhile, the mum-of-two took to Instagram today to share a sweet selfie with her daughters to mark Mother’s Day.

She penned in view of her 1.7million followers: “Happy Mother’s Day!

“So grateful for my two gorgeous girls who woke me up with a coffee and marmalade on toast this morning.

“Thinking of those of you who have lost a mum or the hope of being one and sending my love.”
